Family photography is for everyone.
Time is a very precious thing, and it’s in short supply for nearly everyone these days. But, time can also be a thief, and before you know it, it’s been 3 years since you put off getting family photos. If you are worried about time, we can come up with a solution that works for everyone during our consult, often times we think of it as this very big thing we have to do, but it’s not a whole lot more than say, going out to eat with the family.
I am and will always aim to be inclusive, and that means making sure everyone is as comfortable as possible. I truly believe that family photos are something everyone should have and be a part of, and I’m here to make that happen by listening to the needs of everyone in your group.
Whether it’s a kid or a family member, usually at least one person in every group I shoot arrives thinking this is going to be the worst thing ever. However, I have found that my laidback approach to photographing clients allows for everyone to feel a lot of space between them and the camera, and that helps immensely.
I also don’t put a lot of pressure on the kiddos and I wouldn’t want you to either. Of course, there are times when you’ll want to step in, but overall I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to get beautiful, natural photos of your child. Once they start feeling the pressure to perform, it’s very hard to get them to relax again.
Taking photos when you are fully confident in your body is hard enough, but add in some things you aren’t so confident about and then it can feel overwhelming. Throughout my years I have mastered many posing skills to help deemphasize one thing or another, and during our consult we can chat about what it is you’d rather not show.
Above all, there may always be something you want to hide, but the people who love you, wouldn’t change a single thing. You’ll never regret capturing who you are as a family now, with all the love, and connection that makes your family, yours.

And, while it’s not lying, our storms usually come in hard and fast druing the middle of the day, and leave the most beautiful sunsets during session time. If it happens to storm during your session, no worries at all, we will get you resceduled.
For scheduling, the biggest tip I can offer is schedule your portrait session very close to the day you arrive. Our hot Florida sun is brutal, and nobody likes remember a bad sunburn – especially in photos.
When you have a big family, it’s rare that you are able to get everyone together, so when it happens, why not document it? I am more than able to handle very large groups, and routinely shoot extended families of 16+.
